So, I am still having problems with my GE Z-wave plus smart Dimmer. I just excluded the device and then re-added it and the driver it picked was the Generic Z wave Smart Dimmer driver. However, when I go into the device on the device's page, and turn on the switch, the switch turns on but it does not show as "on" until I hit Refresh. Why is this happening? What do I have to do to get this dimmer to work correctly? Or is there no hope and I should just replace it? Because at this point, I'm really at my witts end with this damned thing.
However, physically turning off the switch at the switch reports the status correctly. So, I assume this is actually a Z wave Plus dimmer and not a regular z-wave one, since it is reporting the physical activity correctly. Right? So, why when it's turned on through the device details page, does it not show the status as on???
This is also true of the set level command. If the light is on and at 99% and I issue a set level command of 50% and I then go in and turn it off and then refresh, it shows as 99% and off. And also if the lights are turned on by an app...."motion lighting" for example.
However, if I issue a "Start Changing Level" command. When Issue the 'Stop Changing Level' the dimmer reports the correct status.
Also of note, I cannot factory reset the switch. After excluding, I tap up 3 times and down 3 times and nothing happens. It's supposed to flash 3 times isn't it?
When I use @stephack's driver, everything seems to work correctly. But since this was deprecated, I don't know if it will continue to work correctly. But for now, that's the one I'm using unless someone can tell me why I shouldn't or give me a better alternative.
Also, the DTH in smartthings allow you to configure the manual ramp rate of the switch as well. Any advice on how to perform that function in HE?
