In my living room I have a Sonos connect amp connected to two KRK speakers. This does not show up in the Hubitat Amazon Echo skill. I asked AI about Hubitat and connect amp compatibility and here is Co-Pilot's response which I am doubtful:
Yes, I was just using it and playing music. Then I tried to detect it again while in use, but the Sonos Integration app still did not discover it. This is a 1st generation Sonos Connect about 10+ years old if I had to guess. Maybe the older models are incompatible?
Here is the information in Sonos regarding this particular Connect device. Also, I've confirmed that I have a DHCP reservation for this IP:
Connect: Living Room
Serial Number: 94-9F-3E-26-AA-F6:6
Sonos OS: S2
Version: 17.1.1 (build 85066270)
Hardware Version: 1.17.5.5-1.1
Series ID: C100
IP Address: 10.99.1.225
WM: 1
OTP: 1.1.1(1-17-5-zp90-2.1)
Yes, Sonos devices, everything is on 10.99.1. Another data point, I have the same model Sonos Connect Amp in my bedroom, which is not discovered by the Sonos Integration either.
I don’t have any of those specific Sonos devices, I know they’re old though.
However, the Hubitat Sonos integration has worked for years and others users have been able to use Sonos devices that are still on the Sonos S1 app because they’re too old to qualify for S2.
I finally got it. I cycled power to the Connect then within minutes ran the Sonos discovery again, and it found the connect! I didn't hold much hope for cycling power because power is cycled occasionally when we have power outages. I'll try the same thing with the Sonos Connect in the bedroom.
I don't have Sonos anymore as I've swapped the amps out for Wiim devices (no Apple Music integration - epic fail). However when I did have them they worked fine for text to speech with Hubitat's built in Sonos integration. The amps were very old and were bought as 'Zoneplayers'. They were the ZP100 and ZP120, the former being from about 2007 so your newer ones should certainly work without issue.
