Solar powered mailbox sensor?

I'm using a Zooz zse41 contact sensor that works well. Power is a CR2032 battery. There is a rechargeable lir2032 available. I'm looking for a way to recharge/maintain that with a small solar panel I can attach to the back of the mailbox. Google is not being its usually helpful self. I'm open to other contact sensors that use rechargeable AA, AAA, or two. The project is how to keep them charged with a small solar panel. The back of the mailbox faces west in full sun most of the day. Essentially, set and forget.

Update: I went with the Ring Outdoor Contact sensor. Fingers crossed that the post office doesn't complain about the larger size as compared to what I have previously used.

I think Ring has a mini solar power supply (USB C) for their doorbells and cameras (~$50) My only thought would be that you would want to talk to your local post office on this before hand. They are a little finicky about things with blinking lights and wires going into your mailbox.

Outdoor and AA batteries… rechargeable or not.

I've had a contact sensor, magnet on the door, sensor just inside the door of my mailbox for several years secured by duct tape. A pair of wire slinking out the back is likely not an issue. Thanks, I'll check out the Ring solar panel.

Just looked at the Ring panel. With a bit of fiddling that could be a winner. I guess that is what disposable income is for  I guess I see if the sensor can tolerate that much over-voltage.

I'm looking for solar rechargeable, as in works for years without further attention. I keep a bucket full of fresh 2032's around for my cycling sensors.

Is 5 yrs good enough?

If you you go with a cheap PET coated solar panel it will last maybe 3 yrs. Your call though.

The Ring may be worth a try before chasing the solar solution. If I could get a couple of years between battery changes that would be a win.
