... it had been intermittent and now, for the last 24 hours, it will not report any changes. I just tried setting a new code via the Lock Code Manager but it isn't working either. As it will lock and unlock via the keypad should I assume "It's dead Jim"? Anything I should try before replacing it?
Maybe a power cycle will do it?
Pull batteries and then mash on the keypad to be sure it drains all power.
Maybe put in fresh batteries as well just to be sure.
Also might be worth powering off the hub for 10 seconds as well. Give both radios a fresh start.
I just installed two BE469ZP, so far so good. Not sure what the difference is with the NX.
ZP is z-wave plus, NX is non plus I believe
I recently ran into a similar issue. The lock would open and close using the keypad and battery level was being reported as 90% so I assumed all was good. After trying a number of different things (including unplugging the battery pack for several minutes) without success, I replaced the batteries as a last ditch effort and problem solved. That was over a month ago and it's been fine since. Thinking back, it had been a very looong time since I replaced the batteries so a 90% battery level seems pretty unlikely.
The curve on Lithium batteries goes from near 100 to 0 very quick, they hold out for a long time then quickly die. So it is hard to devices to accurately detect the levels on those. It works much better for Alkaline batteries.
I'm using run of the mill Duracell Alkaline batteries in mine. I recall battery life being fairly linear and lock issues starting around 80%. I have another BE469 that's currently reporting 92%. I'll be interested to see what happens when the level drops to 90%.
I run Li rechargables that output 1.55 VDC and I have a warning set at 75%.
Once they hit that the curve goes to 0 in no time.
Well rebooting the hub did the trick. My other Schlage was working fine as were the rest of my Z-wave devices. Weird....
Same here. When the batteries get low, I suspect moving the lock pulls the last bits of juice readily available in the battery and the radio stops working for a few seconds.
Forget the percentage reported, just change your batteriesv and see what happens. Fixed it for me.
I've never lost it talking to the hub with low batteries. The lock will start giving low battery warnings but still send updates. It was definitely something in the hub as the reboot fixed. (C7 for the record)
Likely corrupt z-wave radio. Powering down and unplugging for a min clears it.
