I have a new set of the Govee Pro outdoor permananet lights.
Can you all direct me to which driver I need to use with both of Mavirricks apps, Govee integration v2 and the Govee matter driver
Hi, is my reasoning correct?
I want to purchase the Govee Strip Light 2 Pro H61F5.
This strip isn't listed in the LAN Control list, so I have the following options:
- I connect the strip via the Hubitat app on Matter (scan a code from the Govee app; I don't need a Matter controller) and control the strip locally (only ON/OFF, color temperature, RGB, and level).
Or - I connect via the cloud API using the Govee Integration V2. This gives me many more features, but my internet connection must always be online, and the strip might respond a bit slower.
Or
I combine both: one device via Matter for the local, quick actions that always work without internet, and one device via the cloud API for special functions.
Any feedback on this?
Though it is a bit late, you don't need to specify a driver. The integration will figure out the best driver based on the reporting capabilities of the device.
Unfortunately, I have seen a few occasions where the LAN API doesn't list a device, but it is still supported. There is a decent chance the device will support the LAN API, though until you have it, it will be hard to confirm.
Aside from that. it does look like you have the right idea.
