Smoke/CO Detector support in Hubitat Homekit Controller

I and I suspect many others used the Starling Home hub along with their Starling Protect 24/7 Monitoring Service to get reasonably price ($7/mo) monitoring with Nest Protect Smoke/CO Detectors.

As you may know, Starling shut down this service last month and I (and probably many others) are scrambling to find a reasonably price central monitoring service to meet insurance company requirements.

If Hubitat added Smoke/CO Detector support in Hubitat Homekit Controller then those like me could save a large setup cost and additionally save $100's a year using the $10/mo Konnected Hubitat Moonlight integration. Please consider this support.

I understand a C8-pro is needed (which luckily I have).

I don't know if that can happen but the easiest way to bring in Nest protects (I have 9 of them) to Hubitat is a single Ecolink Firefighter. Place it next to any of the nests. It reliably listens for smoke and co alarms and will trigger in hubitat. To bring it in to Homekit from there, simply add it to the homekit section of hubitat and share it there which will allow direct triggering in homekit.
