I have inherited from an ancient comcast home installation four glass break sensors. Digging around, they are early Zigbee sensors from 2012, SMC SMCGB01-Z and they seem all in good working order with a new battery. They paired with my hub with no problem and I can get them set up as generic glass break sensors.
The problem is that they do not expose a state or an attribute. All they seem to have is a. Event “shock” that is fired once when the sensor is paired. I have not been able to trigger them to validate my theory, but it seems that they would fire the event when triggered.
Has anyone successfully used any of these sensors? Have you ever heard of sensors that do not expose a state but work just with an event?
