SmartThings Water Leak Sensor

st sensors seem to love 14, 17 should be good, 26 doesn’t work with a fair number of devices.
I spend a good half day doinking with my three WIFI AP channels, the zigbee channel on hubitat, thinking i was smarter than the radio.
Finally I let the hub decide which channel to use, and it did a better job than I did…

ok thanks. I guess I will continue to disable zigbee and re-enable another 15 times to get the remaining paired. This is a pain. :disappointed_relieved:

I would add a few more repeaters before going through all that for the remainder of those, you’re going to need them anyway. One repeater won’t carry 15 children that I’ve seen, the centralite OEM switch modules are good for around 6 to 8 each.

Do you have any rules or logic doing excessive polling? I have had issues where a run away code thought was seconds but was milliseconds and while that was running I couldn’t pair. I had to disable and restart ZigBee or reboot.

I paired up my 20 water sensors without issue. Only time I had issues pairing was my bad code in a loop.

I have polling on my GE zwave devices that don’t log physical events but nothing for zigbee. The only zigbee devices I have paired to Hubitat thus far are 3 contact sensors, 3 motion sensors, and 6 moisture sensors so far. I have motion lighting and smart lightting setup on the contacts and motions.

Try temporarily disabling or at least setting the polling timer to like 2 minutes and see if pairing goes better.

I’ve been pairing, unpairing, removing and repairing devices all day (for testing not because I enjoy the process  ) and the one thing I make sure is that the device is fully reset back to its original factory “waiting to be paired” state. Some devices will seem like they are removed when they really are not.

Try these steps. With a device that you recently removed from ST. Keep both hubs out of descover mode and reset the device itself twice. For that one I believe it’s holding down the tamper button for two seconds while putting the battery in? Then right after you pull the battery out after the second reset, place Hubitat in discovery mode and pop in the battery using the reset procedure one more time. It should show right up as descovered.

Done I added two more upstairs Iris smart outlets

Done I put a restriction on it for a certain mode which the hub is currently not in

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately this didn't work. :disappointed_relieved: I have been doing 4 or so at a time so almost done at this point. After the zigbee restart they will sit in discover mode for about a minute and then one will pair at a time. 4 more to go!

Finally have them all paired. @mike.maxwell @patrick @coreylista Thank you all for the advice! Have a nice evening,

And no go on deleting these devices from the ST IDE because its down! Super happy I am here!

You don’t need to delete them. Just factory reset, pair to Hubitat, profit! That way you can keep your old automations for reference. The devices will just show as inactive.

Understood, my ST is pretty much dead so just trying to clean it up as I named the devices in Hubitat the same and plan to use Other Hub Event Pusher for Push Notifications until this feature exists in Hubitat.

Besides I have 136 devices in Hubitat now. Everything I can port over I have as of this post! Remaining:
I have an old v1 ST Motion that won’t work
An Iris keypad that I am hoping @mike.maxwell will create a driver for eventually.
I left my two zwave locks on ST because I prefer Rboys SmartApp and hoping he will start creating Hubitat drivers eventually (already been in contact with him).

My ST IDE is full of “other” devices. :sunglasses:

Are you referring to the ST Motion Detector that has the option for USB power? If so, I have it working with Hubitat purely for motion. I don’t believe it reports battery %. I have it working with the Generic Zigbee Motion Sensor driver.

Yes that is the one! I tried pairing it yesterday but gave up pretty quickly. I was under the house pairing a few remaining, far reach devices, which that is one of. It turns on my crawl lights based on motion. :sunglasses: I moved it under there once I got a large order of Iris motion sensors that look nicer.

Did you do anything special to pair? I have had a hellofa time with ST Zigbee devices pairing on Hubitat lately.

I don’t recall doing anything special. It was within a few feet of my hub when I paired it, though.

ok thanks, will try again this weekend. I was under the house, just under the Hubitat hub so surprised it didn’t pair easily. I gave up pretty quickly because I thought I remembered someone saying the old v1’s used some proprietary Zigbee and wouldn’t work. Will try again, thanks! That will leave the keypad, which I honestly don’t use that often and more use it for temperature reporting.

Eventually the locks will come over. I had to move my ST hub to keep them working since I only have 2 zwave devices left.

ok having the same problem suddenly I can not see and pair any Zigbee devices
Where is the polling timer? I don’t see it
I have tried changing channels, rebooting and disabling and deleteling all apps

Polling was in reference to a user rule that was created to update switches. There is no built in poll to change.

Reach out to support and they can help figure out what’s going on.

Did you update to build 705? Might be related to the issue I experienced.

There were no changes to zigbee in 705.
