I'm trying to pair 3 of my ST motion sensor without much luck. Can't seem to get HE to discover the device. Tried pairing by removing battery, pressing on the reset button while inserting the battery and letting go when the LED came up. It just eternally blink blue. Tried with all 3 and with the same results.
you may have to change your zigbee channel or reset your zigbee network (which means you would have to repair your other zigbee devices)
I would try changing channels or even just rebooting your zigbee and/or hub first.
Mine all paired but I have done a lot of work on my zigbee network. (turning off my 2.4 WiFi scanning my zigbee channels to firgure out whihch one detects and pairs devices fastest).
Which channel did SmartThings use?
Make sure you are not using the same channel (if you still have SmartThings Hub running).
I’ll give a check on the zigbee channels…but i have been able to pair other zigbee devices like bulbs, sensors and outlets to the HE hub. It’s just the ST motion sensors.
@kevintee23 - which ST Motion Sensors are you trying to pair? There are many generations of them. Some are more finicky than others.
Also, if I recall correctly, some of the original 1st gen ST Zigbee devices may not like higher numbered Zigbee channels. You may want to compare your ST hub’s Zigbee channel # to your Hubitat Zigbee channel number. Obviously you should never make them the same. However, I believe people have had an easier time pairing to Hubitat using a lower channel number. Mine is set to channel 20 and I am able to pair ST devices without any issues.
My ST Hub is on channel 14 and the HE Hub is on channel 11. The motion sensors that i have are the 2015 variant - i believe it’s the V4…at least that is what the ST IDE is showing
@kevintee23
My SmartThings hub was also channel 20 and I had Smartthings support move it to Channel 22 so I could use channel 20 on my Hubitat. Channel 20 appeared to work best for me as well on Hubitat.
You can not move SmartThings hub zigbee channel yourself manually like you can with Hubitat. You have to get smartThings support to do it for you.
My ST Motion Sensor is listed as “The Original” version (~2013). I was able to get it to pair, but I do recall it taking some time and multiple attempts.
Have you moved your ST v4 Motion Sensors to be very close to the Hubitat Hub when trying to pair them? That seemed to help me with some of my devices.
Yup, was right next to it and also did leave it for quite some time but HE didn’t locate the device. Pretty strange as the ST power outlet paired without any issues.
Even tried turning off the ST Hub for good measure, and still no joy.
