SmartThings Arrival Sensor Stopped Working-Re-Pairing Got It Going Again

The ST arrival sensor stopped working three days ago. I thought I put in a cheapo battery two weeks ago, but no, it was a brand name Energizer. Re-pairing got it working again.

I pushed the little button for six seconds, then hit the 'start pairing' button on the discover device page, and it came up with a previously-paired device (didn't have to rename).

Does this happen once in a while? Could the battery have been loose (didn't seem to be). It's been solid for 3.5 months.

Thanks.

edit: It's Zigbee.

I can tell you that device a flaky enough to make some, myself included, 'upgrade' the battery

Since the upgrade we get a year plus out of a couple AA's.

The battery has only been in for 2 weeks and it's a name brand; I got three months out of the first one.
I'm not ready yet to build a battery box for it, which I thought was for battery longevity rather than flakiness.

Then just save the link until you are

I fought/thought the same thing. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

Done.
