I use the SmartThing IDE for automations other than home automation. I haven't had a hub plugged in for over a year now. Just opened the smartthings app and the only device I have is Pushover and it shows offline but that doesn't seem to matter as the Pushover device is working normally.
Thanks @oldcomputerwiz and @an39511. I guess it's just me lol. My virtual devices are showing offline, even tried to create a new one.
The other day when I was creating the virtual switch it would NOT come on line. I messed with it for a bit, figured it was typical Smartthings, and moved on. The next day it was online.
