I'm going back and repairing all my LR 800 devices using SmartStart. I wasn't aware until very recently that the pairing procedure was different to take advantage of LR.
I have a Zooz contact sensor that shows up in my ZWave details page as connected LR, however, the SmartStart Manager claims this device failed to join. The device does work. How is this possible and what is going on?
Sometimes you need to uncheck and then recheck the device in the app for it to make the connection. You can also use the refresh button at the top, but once something is included, you can actually uncheck (disable) it in the app and the app will keep at the settings for the future. I think the author said leaving it checked sends a signal every once in a while... Looks like it is connected in your z-wave settings so no need to keep it in Smart Start... After inclusion is successful, I uncheck mine...
Try physically opening & closing that window while watching the sensor's device page -- does it register the open/close status OK?
If yes, next check the SS app table again (refresh as necessary) - I bet the entry will be working / complete.
After reading this post, I checked and found I had a water sensor in "Pending", and exercising the sensor fixed it for me. So I guess it's a good idea to check this listing once in a while for this issue!
Yeah I have found that they go into pending or failed in the SS list if there is no activity. It does not hurt anything. Smart start is only for onboarding. After the device is paired smart start is totally out of the picture.
