details to join the beta group
here
We canβt wait to see what you come up with. The community has a way of pushing the boundaries even further than what our engineers originally imagineβor are sometimes comfortable to release publicly.
No worries. I always do a backup before upgrading to a new beta version. If the notes indicate significant changes just wait a few days and read the forum posts. If it looks like things have gone a bit sideways hold off until it is resolved.
Where is the AI companion running?
Itβs that brief period when things might go south that the wife seems to notice first ![]()
Nothing I really need different at this point but will be interesting to try the ai when it comes out.
But Iβll think about the Beta anyway.
I tried to join to beta group for months, but I never received answers
Not everyone is accepted automatically. If you requested to join and your request was rejected, you can try again. Just be sure to include the hub id when you make the request (missing hub id is the most common reason for not being accepted).
To really use this easily looks like I'm going to want to finally sit down and put my devices in rooms...almost all of them are currently roomless, poor things. ![]()
That way I can say "...if there is motion in the office for 10m do this..." Right now I have to name each motion or contact sensor due to my laziness about using rooms.
Nice feature could be if AI can help me to organize things a bit, e.g., I tell AI to put all of my motion sensors into rooms based on their names. Many of my motion/contact sensors have the room they're in as part of their name so that would help me get a jump on getting things better organized. Or ask to have all switch devices default current state set to switch, all motion devices set to motion, enable hub mesh for all motion sensors in x room(s), etc. General housekeeping/organization stuff like that. Feasible?
I am a big scene user. Each room has "Normal, Bright, Dim, Idle, and Off" when it comes to lighting and some other devices grouped into the scene . When playing with voice assistants it made things a lot easier to deal with utterances vs. trying to get the voice parser to understand each device . I expect the AI integration would follow suit.
Feasible? Sure... but are you really ready to feed your data to the AI >> as in plugging your hub to the almighty AI cloud server? For most folks, the answer is resounding NO WAY, including our engineers ![]()
Sounds wonderful. It will be fun to try it out. Yet in my life experience with computers of about 45 years, I discovered that the more helpful the assistance becomes, the more annoying and counter productive it got. However, I have used coding AIs and found them to be a leg up. The trick being in defining exactly what is needed then studying the result. I have yet to find anything claimed to be proactive to be agreeable the majority of the time. AI lacks understanding and intuition.
