We just got a Yellow Belly Slider last night. I want to do some monitoring/controlling of the tank. Looking for input and opinions. I'd prefer all zigbee since it will stick with my theme of "mission critical" only on zwave but WiFi wouldn't be out the question. Here's what I have so far in terms o…

I believe your plan is doable. In order to monitor water level, you need a water leak sensor with a remote probe. Although it does not meet your Zigbee criteria, I have had good success with the Ecolink water sensor. It has proven to be reliable. [image] Ecolink Z-Wave Plus Indoor Flood /…

Hiya. Hate to been seen to be banging the same drum, but... Konnected // nodemcu will tick all of those boxes. Water level monitor - cheap as chips. Handful of ds18b20's. Contact sensors. Add a few 5v relays if you wish to also add lights, heater etc. I would encourage you to also look into some…

I'd be open to this but it sounds like a lot of programming which I have no clue about.

There's no programming, but there are some steps to follow. This may be of use: [image] Looking Into Konnected NodeMCU Integrations I’ve been using the Fibaro Implant (FGBS-222), mainly for its access to Dallas 1-Wire protocol temperature sensors. However, the Implant h…

Third Reality has a Zigbee plug with built-in power monitor. I can confirm, no programming for the Konnected NodeMCU, just some configuration. They can also take a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor.

I'll have to look into this nodemcu stuff. Still not completely clear on it.

They come on small 30-pin boards. Wiring options include breadboards, Dupont connector wires or screw terminal breakout board ( https://www.amazon.com/HiLetgo-NodeMCU-ESP8266-ESP-12E-Development/dp/B0B56LKJXL/ref=pd_ci_mcx_pspc_dp_d_2_t_1 ). The breakout board would be the sturdiest solution.

I would recommend something more dedicated to aquarium purposes. Like a Neptune Systems controller. They have a lot of options and accessories. Used ones can also be found if you do not need/want new. Their controller should be able to handle most everything (depending on the sensors you want/get) b…

I will check that out! Especially if there is integration!
