Smart bulb bigger than Gu10

Everything is in the tittle.

I am looking for same type of bulb as the phillips GU10 but bigger- Holes have been done in ceiling for bigger bulb so it is looking weird with a small GU10.
The surface of the bulb should be bigger.

Spot should be bigger. Any advices please ? Not necessarily from Phillips.

How big is "bigger"?

Do you mean something like this?
LED Downlight

it should have the same type of connection than Gu10 but the spot light should be wider.
around 20cm of diameter

You drilled a bigger whole than is needed?
Most GU10s have wholes of 64 or 70 mm you won't find a GU10 much bigger and your after more than double that! Your best bet would be to look for a gimble one as they are bigger but seem rare nower days. You can also get extensions for some GU10s (again rare now) these were so if you had a old reflector lamp and holder then we're replacing them for GU10s.

Extension

From this I don't think your talking about a GU10

I think you need to give us more context.... Holes are not usually cut for bulbs... They are cut for fixtures...

Which country is your home in (OR... What voltage/frequency)...
Did you cut the holes?
Did you just buy the house and the hole(s) where already there? (the previous owner may have taken the fixtures)
How much area is behind/above the hole?
Is there an electrical box in place behind the hole or is there just a gu10 socket?

As previously mentioned, GU10 bulbs are small... Th typical bulb has a 50mm (2") face, and a typical fixture has a 75mm (3") face. If there is a 20cm (7.75") hole, then that means there was, at some point, some sort of fixture that is now missing.

A 20cm hole is not a typical size for a downlight... Typically they are 3", 4" or 6". You could possibly find a downlight with a large mounting flange, but that would not be ideal...

If there is an electrical box behind the hole, you could install a more customary flush mount fixture, then use a smart bulb of whatever size the new fixture uses. If there is no box, you may need to install a "rework" box in order to support a new fixture, or repair the hole in the ceiling and cut the correct size hole for a standard downlight fixture.

If you have many of these "holes" on the same circuit, it may be a better option to replace the switch with a zigbee/z-wave switch rather than deal with multiple smart bulbs.

New house that has halogen(i think) lamp in the ceiling. These lamps have the same connection type than the GU10 but they are way bigger in term of size. Holes in the ceiling has been made for these lamps.
An example of size (even if it is not exactly the same) :

So like said above, holes have been made from the start for this specific size.

My actual GU10 will be used in the bathroom so no issue but for living room i need this kind of big bulb.

Hoping I was more clear. And switch could be the last resort indeed. But i am not an electrician so that is why i said "last resort".

So... Not a GU10 bulb.... but a bulb with a GU10 base... Which means that there is a fixture... Check the fixture... There should be a label that will state the correct type of bulb that is to be used...

Unfortunately, you will probably not find a smart bulb in that type of configuration... Smart bulbs are typically GU10 bulb, A19/Edison E26/E27, E11/E12 candelabra, BR20, BR30, PAR38... The bulbs that are in common use worldwide. There is just not the potential customer base for making smart specialty bulbs.

You best, and least expensive, solution would then be to replace the switch controlling these fixtures with a smart switch...

IF there is enough space in the fixture... You could possible use something like this...

OR.

It's a ES111 then.

No chance that you will find a smart one of them, they are too rare.

Nice find :+1::grinning: that might do the job

that is a smart find ! thanks a lot!
