Can I request a feature for SL please. @mike.maxwell @bravenel
I setup a SL app I guess you call it, to set the front lights green when I come home and pink when the mrs comes home, for funzies.
Then I setup another SL when the front door is opened, change the lights to white and after 5 mins turn them off (for when im putting out the bin).
But there is no turning the lights off in SL for presence, only for contact ?
I wrote a RM3 rule to turn them off when they become active - but i'd really like to have the ability to turn them off after X time, in the app, for presence please.

- I realise now the RM3 rule would of cut the front lights app down, so i push the RM to 4 mins and the front lights down the 3 min.
The parallel method for Presence, were it to exist, would be to turn off the lights when presence departed, That's not what you want. Notice that for Turn on when Opened, the choice is to Turn off when closed After this number of minutes.
You don't want: Turn on when arrives, Turn off when departs after this number of minutes. While arriving and departing ARE complements, just as open and close are, they usually don't come back to back within a span of a few minutes, as a door opening and closing does. The few choices in Simple Lighting that offer to turn the lights off again after some minutes, all do so from the complementary action: motion active/inactive, contact open/closed, switch on/off, acceleration active/inactive.
We don't like adding features to Simple Lighting, as it would quickly become Complex Lighting. Having said that, we will consider your request. It is true that the other methods for turning lights on have no method of turning them off again, so perhaps adding 'Turn off after this many minutes' would make sense, and not overly complicate the app.

totally understand what you mean regarding the complimentary actions for SL, also that SL is that, to be simple.
Currently SL is very comprehensive with a multitude of buttons, toggles, switches for on, off etc etc.
My point/request is exactly what you have said, other methods within SL have options to have them turn off whatever was turned on.

I've already added this feature to Simple Lighting. It will be in the next main release, 2.1.5.

This is the reason why I love Hubitat. Direct contact with the people who make the service and reasonable requests can be actioned to make our own HA journeys more enjoyable.
