I had a Jasco Zwave switch bite the dust hard. Its node ID is 3. I had to do a force remove and it left a ghost behind. Trying to use HE remove I get the following error in the log:Failed node 03 remove status: 0 SDK failure node is no longer in failed node list. When i try and remove it with PC Controller it does not see a node ID 3, the first device in the list is 6. I are stumped and would appreciate advice, thanks in advance.
Use HEX not DEX when refering to the numbers
Not to be dumb, but isnt 3 hex and dex the same? Thank you for your help!!
Good point. What number is the ghost on the z-wave details page? you should match the hex in Silabs
0x0003 (3) PER: 0, RTT Avg: ms, LWR RSSI: N/A
Neighbors: 11, Route Changes: 0
03 is the node number. I've tried everything I know to do. HE wont remove it, it keeps creating a generic zwave dimmer device. As you can see the RSSI is n/a. It does not seem to be causing the typical odd behavior of a ghost. Everything seems to be functioning ok and zwave repair runs through the 100+ devices with no bad nodes. SL PC controller does not see a node 3. I am not wooried about it, just annoyed. Thank you again for your expertise. jj
Was that device installed with smart start or classic inclusion?
Classic inclusion, again thank you. jj
I had no choice but to do a force remove leaving this problem in its wake. The Jasco device was dead as dead gets. It would not turn on / off nothing. I could not properly exclude it. j
Here is a shot from SL PC Controller.
Here is a screen shot of HE, odd that PC Controller sees node 6, but it does not see node 3 (the bad one) or 4 or 5 - both are working zwave switches. jj
Please - any help? thank you jj
Post your z-wave details page again in this thread.
@bcopeland Thoughts?
any thoughts or suggestions? I appreciate it. I have been able to rid ghosts for years, this is a tough one. Thank you Bruce. Joe Jackson
If it won't remove you will need a z-wave stick paired as a secondary controller to remove it.
I do have a Zooz zwave stick, that is what i use for SL PC Controller.
Am I missing your point?
