Shelly 1 Mini Gen 4 Zigbee with Tuya Driver Solution

I had a terrible time getting a couple of Shelly 1 Mini Gen4 relays (not PM/power monitors!) connected via Zigbee. I tried the 5 clicks, & the 5 clicks plus 3 clicks until I was blue in the face.

The Zigbee setting is also neither available via the APP nor the native 192.168.33.1 interface.

Here is what I found worked.

  1. Use the Shelly app or AP to set the wifi network to your wifi. Note the IP4 address.
  2. Once connected, go into the new IP address, go to settings-> Zigbee and you can turn the radio on there. NOTE: this setting is NOT available in the APP nor 192.168.33.1 AP.
  3. Unpower Shelly 1,
  4. Start Zigbee Pairing, "Manual > Zigbee" (from Hubitat)
  5. Power up Shelly 1. Do not click a the Shelly.
  6. Finish configuring as usual.

Don't ask me why Shelly hides that Zigbee radio setting like they do....

Notes:
-1.74 Shelly firmware
-Tuya Zigbee Driver was automatically chosen and at least has basic functionality.

-Found this solution here: https://community.shelly.cloud/topic/11364-shelly-1-gen4-not-going-into-zigbee-mode/

Thanks for the tip--it really helped for finding the Zigbee switch (AFTER having to update the firmware on the Shelly). But after that, I had no success. It paired, but as a Generic Zigbee Outlet, and the on/off buttons didn't work. You mentioned that in your case the Tuya Zigbee Driver was automatically chosen, but I couldn't find such a driver. I wonder if you have a C8 Pro hub? When I tried to add the Tuya Zigbee integration, I got an error message that it would not work with my C7 hub--my first hint that I might need to upgrade.

For anyone else, after literally hours of trying everything from Shellys (clearly wrong) directions to trying various drivers I gave up and switched back to Matter. Within minutes I was paired to my old SmartThings hub, and from there to my C7 hub. I'd really prefer Zigbee, but it looks like Matter has the same capabilities (limited to ON/OFF) so I'm content.

C7 hub for me. But… I’ve given up on the Shelly devices and Zigbee. I’m 0/2. First one was DOA connectivity wise, and the other one died (connection) a few months ago. Shelly made me go thru extensive troubleshooting on both, to conclude what I already knew, the radios quit working on both.

Shelly has offered to replace both, but not refund so buyer beware. Not reliable enough for me to continue to use them.

Note neither of mine would work in Matter mode after they had failed on Zigbee.
