Shade Button Help Please

G'day everyone,

First time poster, and yes, I have read the 'read first' and extensively used the little magnifying glass to search here (and YouTube, and more broadly) before posting.

With no luck anywhere, I turn to the forums instead.

My situation is that I recently purchased a Hubitat Elevation C-B Pro for use here in Australia. I've added one of my ZigBee shutter controls (the rest of the world seems to call them shades) and did so using the generic ZigBee shade driver. So far, so good.

I can control its up and down motion and pause the motion in the device detail page without an issue (although I have no idea what the configure radio button does):

The issue I have is that the default button on the dashboard for a shade with the slider (a) does not work as intended - instead, it only opens (anything from 0-50) or closes (51-100) in the position setting.

All I am after is a tile that has three buttons linked to open, close and stop position change in the device details.

I cannot for the life of me work this out (and feel like a bit of a noob for what is probably an easy answer tbh).

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Pete

Using the 'Set Position' command from the device web page, can you stop the shutter at any partially open position? Depending on the model of the shutter device, it may round the position to the nearest 10%.

The SetPosition command must be functioning correctly, as it is the command used in the HE dashboard to partially open or close the shades.

The Configure command is a standard feature in many HE drivers. Typically, you won't need to click on it; it is automatically invoked when the device is paired for the first time or when preferences are changed and saved.

What is your particular shutter control device ZIgbee model and manufacturer? (you can find this data at the bottom of the Info tab).

To be able to open the shade at a specific position, you need to calibrate it first - set the fully open and the fully closed position s. This calibration procedure is different for every device - check the instructions leaflet that should have come with your shutter controller.

Krassimir, thank you for taking the time to respond. It's appreciated.

It's a "Nue" brand switch (Here's a link to the Amazon Purchase).

It is a Model HGZB-CL From what I can tell, CL relates to 'curtain shutters' (the light switches end in a number).

I have read and re-read the guide that came with it, and there are no instructions to calibrate the switch.

At the sake of being annoying, I couldn't quite follow the set position instructions you helpfully provided. I am either going about it incorrectly, or it is not working as intended.

When I select 'run', it either opens fully or closes fully (ie ignores the 50 and does not stop there).

If I 'set position' to either 0 or 100, and click set, it opens or closes fully.

Like I say, I either am doing the sequence incorrectly or it is not working as intended.

For the sake of completeness, I tried the branded Zigbee shade drivers with no luck.

The 'Nue' brand is known for reselling rebranded Tuya devices in Australia. You are doing everything correctly; however, many Tuya devices are not fully compatible with any home automation systems other than their own, which includes the Tuya Zigbee hub and the Smart Life mobile app.

What you are observing is typical behavior for a shades controller that does not have defined open and close position limits. Without these limits, the controller cannot determine how long to operate the motor to reach a 50% open position. Therefore, it is normal for the setPosition command to fully open or fully close the shades when the controller has not been calibrated. All controllers function this way.

I need the device info that can be found here :

Thanks again, makes sense (and I am not surprised).

Info as requested (thanks for pointing that out - that will teach me for not scrolling down!).

Thank you, I will research further when I have the time in the next days.

This controller is certified by 3A Smart Home Pty Ltd for use in Australia, unlike many other Tuya clones, so it will be worth the effort to make it fully functional in Hubitat.
