Set Variable with 'Copy Variable' doesn't appear to honor "Display Current Values" when disabled

Really a minor issue except when manipulating a long string (e.g. a JSON result from an http call). Shows up in the logs too, when action logging is selected. Copy via interpolation doesn't have this problem. This is on 2.3.7.142.
