Sengled light strip?

Hiyo have a weird problem I think...this strip seems dim and a lot of the leds are blueish/6500 others are at lower color around 3 to 4k..is it defective or is this normal or should I use a different driver? going to remove it an test it with their sengled hub. got it to replace a samsung outlet and a very cheap led strip.

Use the advanced rgbw zigbee bulb driver (don't forget to hit configure after saving)

I had (past tense!) this strip and it did the same thing. It went blueish when it I turned it white and all the colors were whacko like and RGB display missing a color (man I'm old!). The connector from the strip to the controller is a weak spot - I had it taped under a bed and somehow it got slightly separated. I toyed with it and the colors came back - but it kept getting worse and worse. Ultimately I replaced it. I did at one point try tie-wrapping it in a cross pattern and it lasted about 6 more months. Take a look and fiddle with that connection would you?

I just figured out why I'm looking at this strip and thinking it's defective. It doesnt have a full cool setting or a 6500k setting. It does a annoying combo light to make it kind of like 6500k looking.
Edit: anyone know a ZigBee light strip that can do 6500k? Hmm at 5k it seems less green/blue but really.. this thing is kind hard to be next to..only reason I like it is that I don't have to hear physical switches going off like in my old one. Which was a Samsung smartoutlet with a manual cheap light strip. Probably a fire hazard as it deformed the Samsung outlet.

I’m pretty happy with my Sylvania Flex XL strips, but they aren’t available afaik. The Hue strips I have are nice, but pricy.

what model hue strip are you using?

The 2M indoor version. If I was going to add more, or replace it, I would probably try to find a good quality led strip and separate zigbee controller.

I have been using 2 sets of these for over 5 years now. My only comment would be that they weren't as bright as I'd hoped. I use them mostly for undercabinet lighting and in an area where the cabinets are farther away from the counter tops I put in 2 strips side by side. Outside of that I haven't had a single issue. The temp range is 2500k to 6500k.

Ken recommended them as well. Seems I'll probably buy one an try it out. Thank you for the consensus.

If you need bright, the Hue, if I’m remembering correctly, are 1600 lumens. I have them under the kitchen cabinets and they illuminate the counter nicely.

I also have some Sylvania strips, but they’re the Flex XL 16ft strips (24V). I’m not sure they are comparable to the other Sylvania strips.

does the hue act as a router device or whatever its called? the sengled doesnt it only acts as a end device.

All Hue bulbs and light strips will repeat for other Zigbee network devices. It has been my experience that they are terrible at it, but work incredibly well on the Hue bridge repeating for other Hue devices. YMMV

is there a big different between the two most recent hue light strip models? i dont think id use bluetooth. but the newer one is cheaper somehow..

I think the only real difference is the addition of Bluetooth. It still has Zigbee communication as well. Most of the Hue offerings have added Bluetooth capabilities in addition to Zigbee; presumably so a Hue bridge is no longer a requirement. I would go with the newer one. These usually go on sale at some point around Black Friday, but who knows this year. I bought mine on Amazon a few Christmases ago for $69 or $79 with the 1M extension.

I bought a hue lightstrip it seems to work well. the most recent one with bluetooth. very good and accurate light. Its just a little hard to work with compared to the sengled. only do straight lines with no obstructions at all or it will sag or fall off. or just use those wall hangers with screws. thanks for the help.

Glad to hear. I’ve had mine above the kitchen counter/under the cabinets for three or four years now and not a single problem.
