Sengled Element Classic

Hello,

i have 8 Sengled Element Classic normal and rgb, they randomly stop working staying on or off and doenst respond anymore i have to unplug them.
some are literaly 2 feet from hub some futher away 30 feet and they have all same problem some day they work some day they dont, some are only turn on with the app some have rules with motion sensor. they are all all time connected no switch in between.

Any idea?

Thank you

When I’ve seen Zigbee issues, it was very often due to signal not getting to the problematic devices. Shouldn’t be an issue for a device 2 feet from the hub though, unless there is quite a bit of interference… This can be due to Wifi, other Zigbee hubs, neighbours, etc…

Also, some Zigbee channels are better than others to avoid interference:

Hello Sebastien, thank you for your help.

i do not have any neighbors, i do have wifi 2.4 chan 1 and zigbee to chanel 18.

and i cant imagine that the signal is not working when i have other device like outlet or switch that do work without problem.

i see or so often that in the app the status on/off doesnt match light is off but in app it show on, i have to go in "device" an click on so it go on

I realy dont get it.

any other idea? or settings that i may have wrongly set?

thank you

I had similiar problems and put the affected bulbs away for awhile just to try them again months later. They just never seem to work right. I believe its something in the zigbee chip on those bulbs. In the end ive been throwing them away after they get like that. Lesson learned. Oddly enough their standard zigbee white bulbs have been flawless 100 percent of the time for over a year.

These days I vastly prefer switches and plugs and such to bulbs. I have been using some Kasa wifi bulbs locally and they seem to be about 99.9% effective. I just dont like the idea of a ZigBee bulb being a repeater, hence I started with Sengled.

Normally I would say it is because typical Zigbee bulbs make poor repeaters but the Sengled bulbs aren’t supposed to be repeaters. I have enough Zigbee bulbs that I put them on their own mesh to eliminate that problem. With that in mind do you have any non-Sengled bulbs on the mesh?

You could you go to [Your IP Adress/hub/zigbee/getChildAndRouteInfo] and copy and paste the results back here.
That might shed some "light" on the routing that is happening.

Have you added any new/different zigbee outlets/devices? I had issues with my Sengleds doing the same thing and nailed it down to the SONOFF S40 I added. Took a while because I was saying the same thing to myself, "but the other zigbee devices are working fine". Took the S40s out and replaced them with Thirdreality plugs and all the Sengleds started working perfectly again.
