Since I don't have an rpi or a node red, and really don't want to go down that rabbit hole, I was looking for a way to share my weather station data with the cloud, so I could use it with my sprinkler system.
This post was the first result in my search!! It references a post that shows how to use Google to send data from one of a number of source Scripts to any number of destinations.
what weather station? what sprinkler system.
Adding to what @rlithgow1 said...
Assuming you are using a Tempest if you were using that link above. Tempest devices automatically send their data to the cloud (as does just about every network-connected weather station out there).
Plus, if your weather station AND sprinkler system both can be connected to your Hubitat, you would not need their respective data in the cloud. If you are using a Tempest, there are already integration projects to access both the cloud API and the data locally to your network... so then it would just be a question of accessing the sprinkler.
I guess the unasked question is what kind of irrigation controller are you using? If it’s Rachio they have a built in tempest integration already. Otherwise , weather underground is who I have my Ecowitt uploading to, and my Rachio pulls from there.
It really doesn't matter what I'm using, I posted this to give people using one of those weather stations the option to send data to one or more cloud destinations.
Ah. I think everyone was reading it and thought that you were trying to get your weather station's data to the cloud to use with a sprinkler system... so we were attempting to help with that.
For Ecowitt, it doesn’t even need to go to the cloud to be brought into hubitat, that can be done localy. I don't know if rachio can pull from it via the hubitat integration, im incluned to think it cant, it would still need a cloud source. As i said above, i use weather underground, but there is also weathercloud.net. I send my data there, but honestly, I don’t know how to use it with either either an irrigation controller or hubitat, but it is another cloud option.
They way your post was phrased is you were looking for ways to do it
