Searching inside rules

I see 6 previously topics about this - all closed. So, I thought I'd ask (maybe it was fixed and I'm just to stupid to find it)
Searching in a rule. I have a rule that set a thermostat to 65, and I want to search for '65'. It'd be nice if there was a search button here:

You're not missing anything; there isn't anything quite like this. I think someone may have written a custom app that can find certain things in Rule settings, however, which might be what you're thinking of. I don't know anything else about that, but you might be able to find something with a search.

However, in your case, I'd recommend just starting with the thermostat's device detail page, not Rule Machine. Then, "In use by" will show you specific rules (and any apps) that are using this device, which should make it pretty easy to find. And if you specifically know that the thermostat was set to 65, you can just go to "Events" (also on the device detail page), find the specific command, and see which app sent it. You're looking specifically for things with "command" in the "Type" column, not actually events (although there's probably also a resulting event nearby).

That last thing is a relatively new feature that usually makes finding this kind of thing easier than guessing based on app names, "In use by," log entries, or other approaches.

yea. the manual way works too - but in my defense I have 3 virtual thermos, 2 real, and 90 rules - not to mention I'm porting rules to she who must not be named. but a walkthrough over 10 screens did succeed.

Just use the CTL F in your browser (search the page) and enter what you are looking for.
