guys,
I have a rule machine that trigger when a scene goes on.
when I click "app" on the left menu, I see my scene been "not set" meaning it's not ON nor OFF.
if I click the scene to see the status of each switch part of the scene, I see all lights in the scene are on. if I go back into app menu, now the scene shows as ON.
why do I need to ask hubitat "hey, are you sure the scene is not ON? why dont you check?"

What platform software release are you running?

As far as I can tell this works as expected. What I can't see is what you are experiencing. If you would open the Scene and post a screenshot of that, and then click on Apps menu and take another screenshot of that showing Groups and Scenes, that might show me what you are seeing.
