I have a scene that turns on a light bulb at sunset and off at sunrise.
The automation worked for the sunset but is not turning off the bulb at sunrise.
I noticed that the scene is always ON even the scene actuator sent an OFF event.
Ideally, you would create another scene for SUNRISE. Scenes are different than Groups. A Scene can be 'Activated', which will set all of its devices to whatever settings you've chosen for that scene. A Scene cannot really be deactivated as there is no way to know what the devices should be set to.
A Group can be turned on and off. However, all switches/dimmers in the group will be set to the same value.
I ran into that, I just created a rule to turn off that device at sunrise and problem was solved for me.
@ogiewon The thought that I may need another scene for sunrise crossed my mind too. That will explain why the bulb does not turn off.
Originally I went with a group but I had other sunset/sunrise issues. So will give the group a try again.
Thanks
