Samsung multipurpose sensor - just flashes red/green constantly

Hi, I have a SmartThing multipurpose sensor (U999SJVLAEA). The battery died recently so I replaced it but it now just flashes red/green constantly like it's in pairing mode. I have tried to reset it but nothing changes. I've removed it from HE and tried to re-add but it doesn't work. Has anyone had any issue with this unit?

I’ve never had a problem with mine, but here are the reset instructions from Aeotec since they have been deleted from Samsung’s webpage:

  1. Press and Hold the recessed connect button for five (5) seconds.
  2. Release the button when the LED starts blinking red.
  3. The LED will blink red and green while attempting to connect.

I would reset it and remove the battery, put HE in pairing mode, then reinsert the battery. If that doesn’t work, move the sensor closer to the hub or a repeater if possible and try again.

Thanks. Tried that but it does not connect, the unit flashes red/green as soon as the battery is inserted. It's only 2m from HE, no walls in between so I would think that would be fine.

Sometimes it seems to me that other Zigbee devices create so much traffic (or there’s a bad device) and it becomes difficult to pair a device. You could try cutting power to other Zigbee devices and try pairing again as a troubleshooting step.
I had this issue a couple years ago when I was trying to add Lightify 4-button dimmers. Peanut plugs were the culprit in my case. I was able to pair all 10 of the dimmers to a second HE hub without issue.
But, perhaps the device has gone bad, or you got a bad battery (which I have had happen).
