Since a recent update (not sure which, but recent...), my Room Lighting apps will not turn off when a flip is toggled if a motion sensor is still active. The message I get is "Not turning off, some motion still active: Office desk motion".
This makes it impossible to turn off using the light switch since I am in the room when I do that. It use to work just fine.
The light turns off because I did flip the switch, but since the RL rule is still active, walking back in the room will not turn it on again unless the full motion inactive delay finally expires.
This is a dual purpose room, so it's impossible for me to put a short delay to compensate.
You need to look at the logs for your office desk motion sensor. The message says it is not becoming inactive.
Enable the logs for sensors, switch, and RL app and filter the logs on those devices. You should be able to figure out where the issue is.
Means to turn off is an OR condition, any will turn the lights off and re-enable the automation. The fact that it is not re-activating by your sensor is another indication of a sensor issue.
Hi. I have those logs too. For a while, I thought that the conditions started acting like an "AND". But then I tried turning off the automation from the app itself and I had weirder issue where I got logs that the "off" had been scheduled after the motion became inactive, and everything stopped responding.
I have another similar motion/switch controlled rule in the house. It was doing the same thing.
Both of them are fixed after deleting, recreating.
I have no clue what broke where, but perhaps my statuses got messed up in a reboot or an upgrade...
Anyway... recreating works and is faster than troubleshooting, albeit a bit annoying.
