Room Lighting App - Turning on after switch use

So my wife had me automate the lights in her "She-Den" and I have an issue. She wants the lights to stay on for an hour even if there's no movement. No problem. The issue is that sometimes she walks out and uses the switch to turn off the lights. Then when she returns later the lights don't turn back on. The app thinks the lights are still on I guess since it shows as "active." Today I added the light switch as a "all lights off" alternative. This still doesn't work.
I find this app so complex and can't figure this out, though I'm sure the fix is simple. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I bet that does it. I'll report back. Thanks @UserSeventeen !

You could use the lights themselves being turned off as a means to turn off the lights. That's what I use and it exits the RL instance when the lights turn off. As long as she doesn't immediately re-enter the room (before the motion sensor times out) it will work the way you want it to.

@oldcomputerwiz beat me to it. Have the switch be a Means to Turn off. This will turn off Room Lighting altogether when the switch is manually controlled. When she walks back in, assuming the motion sensor goes active, the lights should turn back on.

Worked perfectly! Thanks again!

Another question: So early in the morning my wife wants the lights at 10%. Then after 9am she wants them to 100%. This morning she decided to use Alexa to turn them up to 100% earlier than normal. Naturally the next time motion was detected it turned it back down to 10%. This annoyed her. She raised it, and it lowered again. Any idea how to get Room Lighting to leave the level alone?

What is your current setup? This sounds like the option "Activate even if partially activated" is selected. Basically, every time that motion sensor activates, it is going to set the lights to the time period.

Did you put the switch as a Means to Turn Off? That should have solved your original issue.

Hmm. Yes, original issue solved. Seems like I needed that "Activate even if..." option for some other issue I had. I'll try turning it off.

Removing that option should fix this issue. With your original issue, putting the switch as a Means to Turn Off would have fixed that.
