I have ten 48" wide roller blinds covering sliding patio doors. I'd like to automate them with Hubitat so they rise and lower depending on the time of day or temperature. I've decided to go with an internal roller motor type as apposed to pull chain motor. I need some recommendations on wireless protocol (Zigbee, Z-Wave, WiFi), power source (battery, solar, plug) and any other important considerations. If like to hear from anyone that has had good results with a particular brand/models. I'm hoping to keep the price around $50/per unit.
I recently got these working
¥15.47 47%OFF | Tuya Zigbee Roller Shade Motor For 38mm tube Electric Engine Shutter Rod Compatible with TUYA zigbee hub Support Smarthings
Pity quite, had to port a driver in, the only fiddley bit is setting top and bottom as you have to do it with the remote and the instructions weren't very good. But the seller is really helpful
That's a great prince and should work for me. The only downside is having to run an outlet to all 10 shades. I'll check on the delivery time and landed cost.
Good that you have it working. Do you use a Tuya Zigbee Hub or direct connection to SmartThings / Hubitat Hub?
I recently bought one from AliExpress, stated as ZemiSmart Tuya Zigbee, but I failed to detect the device both on Hubitat Hub and SmartThings Hub.
Any suggestion on the tricks?
