Ring Keypad Gen 1 Pairing with C-5 Issues

I have looked through all of the posts relating to the ring Keypad Gen 1 and have not found anything that has helped, so I thought I might try again.

I am on a C-5 with version 2.2.8.152

I have removed the Keypad from my Ring System and reset it per the manufacturers directions (hold the 5 key and press the reset button on the back until the light stops flashing, then release the 5 key). Then, I went through the pairing procedure (remove and apply power and then press the 1 key for 5 seconds) and I get nothing at all on the HE. Does anyone have any more suggestions?

Unfortunately you will need to upgrade to a C7 hub if you wish to use the Ring Gen 1 Keypad. The below screenshot is from the device compatibility list. As you can see in the far right column it shows the C7 dependency.

Yea.. Most ring devices require S2 security to function, many won’t even include without it,

Yeah, I am just struggling to find a suitable keypad for the HSM and thought I had found a solution with the Ring. I am still holding out with the C-5 for as long as possible and will just have to find another solution.

I purchased 2 of the IL021 keypads and had nothing but trouble from them. They worked properly about 1/3 of the time. Randomly, they would just stop responding and go into pairing mode. Other times, they would simply not respond to and button presses at all.

I suspect it was the keypads and not HE. But, not I am mentally not very trusting of those keypads despite others having such success with them.

I had better luck with the Iris 3405-L keypads, but still didn't love them. I use the Ring Gen 1 Keypad and it has been overall much better.

I figured the Ring would be better. I guess I will have to wait until I eventually get the C-7.
