Ring Contact V2 sensors failed, can't reconnect?

C7 hub. Latest firmware. USA. Bought 3 Ring V2 sensors off amazon.

Pulled the battery tab, held the button for 3 seconds, fast flashing. Connected to the hub with S2. Boom, worked instantly and worked great.

Next morning, 2 of the 3 sensors show red on the dashboard even though the door is closed.

Removed the sensor, tried holding the ring button, but that doesn't do anything. Tried excluding it in hubitat but the hub received no disconnect signal. Then I searched this forum and tried the "hold the pinhole reset button for 10 seconds", and now the ring sensor just does the slow-flash 3 flashes. It does not respond to me pressing the ring button like I did when I originally connected.

It doesn't do anything different if I remove the batteries.

It doesn't do anything different if I reset it again.

I force removed it in the hub, nothing has changed.

What do I do?

I don't have a ring hub. I bought these purely because they were affordable and i'm told Ring is a decent quality brand and that they are supposedly compatible with the C7. If this isn't the case then I might as well pack them all up and send them back. If theres no answer, can someone at least give me a better recommendation for a door sensor with a good battery life and fast reporting?

I love DIY but I can't play this "why isn't the door sensor working today" game because I intend on relying on the HE as my security system.

Please advise.

These types of issues are typically caused by Z-Wave mesh issues. It is possible that the signal is not strong enough going to the device.

If you share screenshot of your z-wave details screen, there are a lot of people on the forum that can help confirm if this is the source of the problem.

It is very probable that adding a Z-Wave Extender between the hub and the problematic sensors would help. Ring Gen 2 Z-Wave Extenders work well for this. I use a couple of those myself for this same purpose (even though I have a lot of switches and other powered repeaters).

Hopefully, this will help you get to a solution.
