Per Amazon this is a "Ring Alarm Outdoor Contact Sensor - 1st Gen - 2021 release". I have tried doing SmartStart, manual pairing etc. Pairing is not an issue. It just doesn't work right. I get like one open event and then nothing. I've tried at least four different Device Drivers and can't get it to reliably work. I see a lot of v2 comments on here but this is not that. AFAIK this IS the latest model of the outdoor contact sensor. I've had two previous contact sensors go bad our under my awning due to moisture. Hated to spend $49 for this, but figured it was worth the money. But, can't get it to work. What's the secret to this or do I have a bad device?
Some more info. I'm using the Ring Alarm Contact Sensor driver, which Grok v3 says is correct. I see the events in the logs.

But, the current status is NOT reflected in either rules that use the state, nor in the dashboard that displays the state. So, I'm even more confused.
Anyone have any ideas for me?
Did you pair it with S2? Most of the Ring devices require it to work properly IIRC.

Yes. And oddly after a half hour or so it started working. Been fine ever since. It’s a mystery!
