Rfid tags to kick off Hubitat tasks using IOS

When I was on Android and using Vera, I had an rfid tag stuck net to my front door. When I tapped my phone on it... Tasker would run a task that told the Vera to unlock the front door. Essentially giving me a card reader kind of functionality.

Now I'm on an iPhone. Is there any way to accomplish this with iphone and Hubitat?

Yes you can create a shortcut to do that, I have that exact setup on my front door.

Have the shortcut open a url to a Cloud or local trigger for a rule.

There are a lot of articles related to RFID + iPhone + Shortcut... here's one:

I have had no trouble adding a tag and creating the shortcut then having that action appear in Hubitat (via HomeKit/HomeBridge) when the shortcut app is open... but when I set the Shortcut to be Run Immediately vs Run After Confirmation, it very rarely works. Others are having great luck and I'm assuming the cheap tags I bought are contributing. I'm thinking along the lines of maybe their default programmed values aren't robust enough.

Sweet! Got it working. Too bad it doesn't seem you can share Shortcuts with other people (family members).

Honestly, I didn't even know about the Shortcuts app. I just moved to IOS and haven't had an iphone in like 10 years. Too bad you can't share personal automations.

You can share shortcuts. From Apple Support:
"Share a shortcut through an app: Tap an app (such as Messages or Mail) in the row of share options, then use the app to send the link. When the recipient taps the link, a description of the shortcut is displayed. When the recipient taps Get Shortcut, the shortcut is added to their shortcuts collection."
