C8 Hub version 2.3.9.201 Unable to create new low battery level notifier after numerous attempts. Reboot no change, no errors in the log. Other notifiers are working. I then shared my phone and the device I was trying to monitor to a meshed C7 on the current beta and it successfully created the notifier with the same settings. Is there a way to repair the built-in Notifications app?
I can't answer you question concerning the notifier app but the Device Activity Check app is perfect for monitoring battery levels and for non responsive devices. You might want to check it out.
I use Device Activity Check. For some reason my 2.3.9 Notifications app is not saving new child instances. It previously did and the current beta does. I'm guessing some sort of corruption. But; how to fix it?
If you suspect corruption reboot the hub and check the "rebuild database" option. That should clean out any garbage that you may have.
You could also restore from a backup but that carries some risk if your backups are bad. If never had issues but I've read some have.
I've done restore/rebuild database and a soft reset. I can not add a new notifier in the Notifications app. Tried selecting Notifications from the built-in app list thinking that might create a fresh instance and it wiped out two existing notifications and would not add a new one. Restore did bring those back.
Solved. I was apparently leaving something in the search filter box that was preventing me from seeing a newly created notifier.
That happens. Glad it's working
The odd thing here is that it's not my first rodeo. I've been at this for at least five years. I'm familiar with the leading blank in the search box. I went through a restore, restore/ soft reset with no resolution. I wonder if the search box setting was retained in the browser? The good news is that it is good now. And; it is really hard to fix what isn't broken.
