You are correct. I can have the same SSID on both and then set a dedicated channel on the 2.4G to 6 in my case. We will see how that works. Thanks everyone for the input.

Just wanted to update this thread.
My issue is resolved. It was not the eccobee at all but the furnace circuit board which was recalled.
I also found a flacky SSY switch (breaker switch) that was installed on the furnace that may have contributed to the problem.

That makes sense. Ecobee thermostats use solid-state relays which rarely go bad. And there's nothing in the Hubitat platform that can cause relays to malfunction on a cloud-connected device.
