Does anyone here use these GE switches? I have 2 that I had previously paired with SmartThings. I have excluded them and now trying to reset them. I do the up button 3 times then do the down button 3 times - it's supposed to flash but I get nothing. I try to pair with HE and the switch never gets seen. Any other ideas what I can do to reset this switch before I just toss the damn thing?
Were you able to link your GE switches? mine is about 30 feet from the hub and i've tried cycling the power on the switch, as well as rebooting the hub. no luck. i'm hoping the wiring doesn't have anything to do with this. The light turns on and off fine so i know it's otherwise working.
No, I could never get them reset to be able to include them on HE. I finally gave up and bought two Zooz switches which work fine. Since these switches worked fine previously, I have no idea what's wrong. I doubt they both failed at the same time. I may try them in another location at some point
When I was using GE Z-Wave switches, I always had to bring the switch and the hub within close range of each other. Make sure the old switches are properly EXCLUDED. And then try to pair them by bringing the hub a close as possible to the switch (or vice versa.)
I eventually grew tired of the quirks I had with Z-Wave switches and dimmers and simply replaced them all with Lutron Caseta.
I have never, literally never, had to bring a GE switch close to the hub to pair... And I would bet $20 that I've paired more GE switches/dimmers than any person on here.
I have never had to move mine either except to exclude sometimes. Re count I’ve paired around 150 between old non-plus switches and then replaced majority with plus. But I am sure you still have more.
Yeah, that's definitely a lot though! I was being a little facetious on the 'more than any person on here' part.
By my count I have paired ~180 distinct GE devices, and each of those 2-3 times between moving between hubs.
Granted, the same device excluded and included multiple times isn't the same thing - as you already know it can do it/works in place.
For exclusion I often (but not always) just use my Aeon zstick to do the exclusion, so maybe I am cheating on not 'bringing it close to the hub' for exclusion. I'll let the jury decide.
