Reset Battery Level for Dome Water Sensor?

Hub Mode: C-5 (2.3.7.139)

I have several Dome Water Sensors, all of them have been working great for the past 3 years. Always responsive when tested, seem to always check in twice a day when I look back at the logs. Over the past few years, the battery levels have slowly went down, which is of course expected. Now, I've seen the battery levels start to dip to levels I'm not comfortable with (<20%) so I replaced the battery in one of them.

At this point, it still continues to work great when tested, still continues to check in twice a day. However, it has now been several days and the battery hasn't changed level. It is still at the same level it was at when I changed it.

Anyone have thoughts on how long it takes for the battery level to recalibrate or what I would do to make it recalibrate manually?

I would pair them again. If that fails then remove them and add them again.

Other than that, with Dome being out of business, you nay want to switch to another brand.

The Tuya leak sensor has been great for me.

Every device in my home that could leak water has 2 of these monitoring for leaks. Redundancy with leak sensors is never a bad thing.

I don't know if removing/including the sensor again would be the first thing I tried. It will be very disrupting to do that if you have them in automations.

Did you try hitting "Refresh" on the settings page for the device? You might have to push the button on the device to wake it up right after hitting refresh.

My first suggestion was to try to pair it THEN if that didnโ€™t work it may need to be removed and paired again.

โ€œI would pair them again. If that fails then remove them and add them againโ€

But they are Z-wave? To pair them again you have to exclude then include them again.

It will eventually update. I have 4 of these and they are the most amazing devices. Never fall off and incredible battery life, wish I had more.
IIRC if you tap refresh a few times while single pressing the button inside the water sensor that should wake it up, or try changing the battery reporting interval and save preferences, but change it back to 24hrs after to save battery

Once again I am thinking Zigbee.

I liked the idea of trying the refresh button in conjunction with the physical wake button. I tried it as you can see in the logs below, but alas, no dice. Looking back through the logs over the past few months, the battery level stays the same for weeks at a time before dropping a few % in a single report, so I'll probably just let it ride for a month or two and see what happens. If it goes down again, or doesn't change after a month or so, then I'll try to unlink and re-add. I'll keep this chain updated for posterity.

Same here. I bought mine in 2017, when I was on Wink, and I may have put one battery in the device in that time since. It reads 100% right now, and has for years! Twice a day it sends that battery message. It reported water fairly recently when I had water on the basement floor, so I know it works.
