Request for doorbell camera recommendations

I am in need of best doorbell camera for my home so before purchasing I need some recommendations thanks in advance

Can you provide more details of your home and networking setup? For a start - what networking equipment do you have? Is your home wired for PoE?

FWIW, I have a Reolink WiFi doorbell that I am reasonably pleased with. It is not connected to Reolink's cloud; instead I integrate it as an ONVIF doorbell with Scrypted/Scrypted NVR for HKSV and recording. It is also fairly easy to integrate with Hubitat by triggering RM HTTP endpoints. For notifications, I use Pushover.

I have used both the Arlo Video Doorbell and now the Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro. I much perfer the G4 Doorbell Pro. The video is much of higher quality, It comes with a downward angled package camera, It has some level of AI built into it and is 100% local. The downside is that if you are not already a Unifi user, you need to get other gear for it.

I think the G6 doorbell should be coming out soon, so that may be something to consider as well

G6 Entry

G6 Entry is geared for commercial properties that require door access.

Current UniFi doorbell offerings are here: Ubiquiti Store

I believe i have seen a few folks that have used it for residential use as well. It does appear to be POE so you would need a Unifi Chime as well. It works with both Unifi Protect and Unifi Access. As long as you can get POE to the doorbell it can certainly be a residential solution.

I apologize in advance if these questions seem unwelcoming or otherwise dismissive to the OP.

Nonetheless.

I am wondering if this thread is for a real person with a real home?

Is it crowdsourcing opinions from real people for use on some kind of review website (possibly as even clickbait primarily to generate referral links)?

Is it intended to train a generative AI chatbot?

Something else?

It's funny how this kind of basic question makes us all think it's harvesting our intelligence in 2026. I tend to agree.

I suggest that the OP start with using many of the wonderful Ai tools prior to posting here. In the past I've been scolded for suggesting this approach, but in 2026 this approach is respectful of the community.

I replaced my G4 Doorbell Pro with one in Dec

It is PoE and it’s the first product to work with both Protect and Access. The G4 Pro has a fingerprint and NFC reader but it didn’t integrate with anything. To use Access this doorbell must be hooked up to an Access hub otherwise it just uses Protect. I love the iOS TouchPasses and the ability to unlock my Level Bolt lock via HE integration.

Unifi’s basic PoE doorbell is the Doorbell Lite now.

It’s always possible that what feel like red flags have innocuous explanations. Maybe a newbie who’s not even sure what to ask, and English isn’t their first language.

But the original title of the thread (Best Request for doorbell camera You should consider in 2026-Reviewsrecommendations) reads like the title of a clickbait review page, the question posed in the OP is extremely vague, and the user’s posting history here in the forum is almost non-existent.

Taken together, it makes my spidey sense tingle.

If I’m way off, then I look forward to hearing more from the OP as they hopefully continue to participate in this thread.

Well, when you consider it's the members first thread it sort of leans a certain direction.

Then if we look at the single previous forum reply things sort of gel.

Because I run another forum what I would look for is responders to this thread that joined in the last few months that are suggesting products. The typical multi account approach. I'd also look at their ip data to see if they are both originating from VPN exits. Not that using VPN is a problem, just that it correlates. I'd also check their registration email addresses to look for specific red flags.

Apologies to the op if it's just a coincidence.
