I have lights that are triggered by motion and I want them to change color every minute. I also want them to turn off if no motion has been detected for 3 minutes. Also, while the lights are on I do not want the motion sensor to re-trigger the rule. To achieve this I created a hub variable and 3 separate Rule Machine rules. It works perfectly, but I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on a way to simplify this into one rule. Thanks!
Did you try the until time since event? You can set it to time since motion inactive. I have never used it so I don't know if it will reset the time if motion goes active again.
No real help to offer, but sometimes multiple rules is the best way to simplify. Forcing complex automations into a single rule can result in the opposite effect.
