Repeater on the cheap, I repeat, cheap, like 5 bucks

If you're a penny pincher, like me, you might enjoy the following. I bought 3 because I wanted to avoid shipping, so it came to 15.00 USD for 3 repeaters shipped. Hurry before the tariffs kick in, JK but I was thinking about that. It's all fake money anyway, who cares?

Here's the link, and there are plenty of sellers, so you maybe able to find it cheaper(it's like ~15.00 on scAmazon and called "Smatrul Repeater, now only available in 4 pack) It's a USB C device & Zigbee 3.0

Here's what it looks like with the Zigbee map app, all good signal, and this is in a home with a tin ceiling and foil faced insulation AKA Zigbee purgatory.

Same or different?
My TZ3000_n0lphcok seems to work pretty good.

I see what you did there.

Same although this has a different form factor and a larger antenna, compared to the tiny USB A version. All I know is I tested a single Smatrul device on my hub for several months and it never fell off, while the USB A versions needed re-pairing several times, both in the same room

Mine is a CSmart MG-SMS114
Was about $8 last fall, listing on AliExpress no longer exists. :person_shrugging:
Bound to be lots of variations out there by now.
Hopefully there's none that are really poor performers.

My USB A's are pretty good, only dropped very rarely after a weather event caused lots of power bumps. Both my home automation and Wi-Fi meshes needed power cycling to recover.

And you have be careful w/"Tuya" devices as anyone can (and does) make Tuya labeled devices and they come w/a wide range of quality/compatibility, and sometimes can be very spammy on your hub.
