Reolink or Ezviz?

Ok so I’m currently looking at geting rid of my Arlo system and switch to cameras that I controll myself from either Ezviz or Reolink. (Not their camerasystems that require a seperate camera hub like Argus and so on but wifi cameras like Reolink E1 Outdoor)

As I have understand it Reolink and Ezviz are kind of simular when it comes to picture and sound quality. Eziviz might be a little bit better, but kind of equl.
Also that wifi connectivity to Ezviz cameras might be slightly more stable.

But as I have understood it, Ezviz systems are pretty much locked so there is no chance of me connect Ezviz cameras to an NVR and/or BlueIris. Is that correct?

And as I have understood it I can get cameras from Reolink to show up on my dashboard if I use an NVR but there is like no way I can integrate Ezviz cameras to Hubitat. Is that correct?

Also take a look at foscam. I got their doorbell sitting next to me now and waiting on a few other pieces. They have an open API to make integration into HE pretty good. The device can push alerts to the hub when they occur. Also have local RTSP and can be added to BlueIris etc.

Just another option to consider.

Might possible be another option but looking at the specs you get more for less money buying Reolink or Ezviz. So Foscam would be ranked in third place for me.

Foscam is US-based rigth? I forgot to write that I live in Europe, so think it’s import fees that makes the dofference. At least Reolink ships directly from Germany (although their made in Chin) so there is no customs.

You might want to look at this before considering Reolink.

Thanks, I’ve seen that video (among many others) and even though the discussion in the forum
where interesting to read it didnt answer my questions about if Reolink or Ezviz are more or less a locked system than the other one. And if I can integrate Reolink or Ezviz to hubitat.

But I got the point from reading what everybody wrote in that forum; That Reolink is pure crap that should be avoided…

Understood. I went with foscam because their integration was the best of what I could see. I got ahold of some API documents and their support was pretty good providing me with other info. I wanted to keep certain things local (notifications/streams/local storage/app) for HE while still being able to access the cameras remotely.

I'm in Canada and yes finding it was hard too. Would probably be even harder in Europe. Everything is a challenge right now with some shortages.

In the end I'm just trying to get down to one solution that does everything. I'm getting rid of my wyze/ring/amcrest mashup and replacing it all with one solution that offered devices that covered it all. Will be worth it in the end.

Which did you get? And are you happy with it?
Lessons learned appreciated.

The Ezviz looks very good but I don't see where in USA to buy their NVR.

Did you get it to integrate with Hubitat? Other threads seem negative for Ezviz.

I went for Reolink. Their E1 zoom for indoors and the RLC-511WA for outdoors. I have’nt integrated them into Hubitat yet. But so far I’m happy. An NVR is missing for integrating into Hubitat. But when that’s bought… :slightly_smiling_face:

How is the integration working with the door bell & flood light? I'm looking into getting some cams that can integrate with HE, so I've been looking at Amsted &Foscam. But open to others. Any suggestions?
