Is there a way to remove a device from the hub without excluding?
I am in the process of splitting my zwave and zigbee networks onto my current hub and an old C5. Devices show up on both hubs. I would like to remove the zigbee devices from the newer hub and the zwave from the old hub. I'm afraid that if I remove/exclude I will have to completely reinvent the wheel. Could I try to exclude with the appropriate radio turned off?
Assuming you did a migration backup, better way may be to only restore the zwave radio to the newer radio, and then reset the zwave radio on the old one.
I reset the Z wave on the old radio, but it still shows all of the devices. Did I miss a step? When I try to delete the device, it still asks me to exclude.
@mhperlman1 if you’ve reset the radio then you can safely force delete the device entry on that hub without excluding as it no longer has a radio entry that needs to be kept in sync.
Essentially there are 3 parts to the relationship normally(hub database, radio database, device’s registry), but when you cloned the hub to migrate you created a five way so we need to eliminate the radio database link (done with the reset), and the old hub database entry (force delete on old hub) without destroying the device’s internal registry s that it continues to recognize the new hub.
