Would have been nice if they mentioned the parameters of what they considered excessive...

I would suggest going into each of your "child devices" and configuring a less frequent "Status Polling Interval", e.g. 60 minutes or more. This may (hopefully) reduce the calls enough to the MELCloud service to allow them through.

What basically does that mean? There is a 60 (or what ever) minute loop asking the MelCloud server about the status. If I would like to change a speed of a fan, in worst case scenario that change is going to happen after 59 minutes?

Changes are additional requests (and result in an update).

Seems to work fine for me using a 15 min interval (different driver though), with 3 units

I changed my interval to 60 minutes about five hours ago.

I'm still getting the error message on MelCloud: We have detected excessive traffic from your account, your access to the service has been limited for a few hours.

I don't have a panic with this one though. No need to change any setting until summer.

I have had polling off for seven days now but still can't log in ton MelCloud.

I have no idea if something is still polling to MelCloud. I deleted the device from Google and Alexa, but yet no goal.

I'd check the unit device is not in use by any automations or has any schedule jobs setup at the bottom of the device detail page. If there is nothing there, then you may want to consider disabling the device in HE and/or contacting Mitsubishi.

I installed your driver back in Feb 2022... it's been rock-solid for me! Couldn't be happier...

Not that it's awfully important to me... but I think (could be wrong) you mentioned some time ago about bypassing the Kumo cloud and going direct LAN. Any future plans with that?

Yeah, something I 99% completed but never released.... Been bugging me for a long time that I never got around to releasing it... Let me see what I can do in the next, probably 3-4 months.... But you may need to give me a gentle nudge... Please do.... It will likely give me the motivation to finalise it.

You are welcome to install the local control version from over a year ago.... But no guarantees it will behave the same as the current version... And I will need to find the instructions I provided when I first released it....

Unfortunately the local option I developed was only for the U.S., i.e. Kumo Cloud.

Yeah it looks like it's having issues establishing the connection to melcloud using ssl. It be something unrelated to the driver, but I cannot be sure....

Might be worth looking around on other platforms to see if other users are seeing the same thing.

I removed parent device, added it back, it seems to be working for now. Maybe it was MelCloud server problem? There was some issues in april when i was using Home Assistant.
