I am out of the country for holidays - will be back in a couple of weeks and see how we can get back to this project! Will send you a message when I do! Happy new year !
Sounds great. Enjoy the time away and catch up with you in the new year.
Thanks everyone for hopping in on this and offering to bring this plugin to the next level. I’m excited to see what comes of it
Happy new year!
Everything for me is working perfectly, accept for the ability to wake the TV up, when it is in standby mode.
Looking forward to an update on this topic.
Tested the driver on my LG 27LQ625S-PU with webOS 2022.
-
The new driver did not work. The driver for older tv's did work (mostly). The TV will turn on maybe 50% of the time. It turns off 100% of the time.
-
When it doesn't turn on and I power it on using the remote I'll see "info Pairing successful Client Key saved" in the Log and all the commands work.
-
The Log is showing "error WebSocket failure: failure: connect timed out" and "debug connect timed out" repeatedly eight times a minute.
-
The only two Alexa commands recognized on my Echo is Power on and Power off which are also the only commands available in the dashboard.
I’m very appreciative of everyone who took interest in this driver
I want to say that I developed it to fill a personal gap.
That gap is now filed and I cannot dedicate the time to develop this further
What I wanted was one driver for wake on lan, on/off functionality, and hdmi commands all in one driver without the need for secondary drivers to handle these functions - one to handle all (of my needs)
Unfortunately I don’t have the time to develop it further, but I am very excited at the level of interest and encourage anyone to take my code to develop it to work with additional versions , add functionality , etc.
I have no personal attatchment to this driver and whoever wants to take it from current to future is welcome to, and in addition call it their own.
My goal was to fulfill basic needs (selfishly for myself) I look forward to seeing what comes of it
Prior to this driver, there was a strange combination of multiple driver for WOL, and tv functionality.
I have Bridged that gap and we now have one driver capable of doing all in one.
There are gaps to fill: Compatibility with older versions of televisions in addition to feature requests expressed to match the functionality of other drivers
I do believe my driver with built in WOL serves as a solid baseline for something better.
Take it and make it your own!
For folks watching this thread, you might also want to check out this other LGTV WebOS driver. It addressed all the issues I had and more!
Love it!
Now if only we could get a driver for u by Moen shower in hubitat without the need for any external hub or integration with home assistant my smart home dreams will all have come true
