I can't seem to get the app to update without clicking the refresh button. Any advice?
Reach out to @Johndc7 , he is the developer. When I was still using Android, he was very helpful. I’d help, but it’s been long enough now I’m not sure I remember much.
Make sure you have the patch app installed and location permissions are enabled for both.
As far as I can tell this requires that the phone be connected to specific Wi-Fi networks to ID home or away/other locations.
My primary use-case:
- Home: Connected to either of two home Wi-Fi networks
- Away: Not connected to either of the two home Wi-Fi networks
Is there a way to make that work?
It should show away if none of the triggers for a location are true.
You can create a new location and add the two Wi-Fi networks as triggers. Make sure to check the "home location" checkbox so it shows you as present.

It seemed to be working as expected initially but I'm starting to get some odd behaviors, I will get a notification that I'm away but I'm still home and connected to the target home network.
Also getting some significant delays on getting presence when I'm coming home. Tonight for example we got home a little after 7:30 and it didn't capture my presence until after 8:00. Phone connects to Wi-Fi when I'm still in the garage when I get home.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting this?
Make sure that battery optimization is turned off for smart presence app.
