[RELEASE] Honeywell TCC Total Connect Comfort Parent/Child Drivers

Weird no such message here. On android

I'm on Android and received this message a couple days ago in the TCC app. Maybe region specific?

Thanks @csteele

I made the change from 8 to 5 and things are working. We will see if it's still working after the maintenance.

I did find that I had to use the thermostat ID from the Resideo app. You still get the ID the same way using the TCC website. Maybe something happens when you do the import from the TCC app to the Resideo app.

Anyway, thanks again. I showed my wife the T6 and her first response was, that's ugly so that wouldn't be an option.

SmartHomes are a small market still but I'd like a "faceless" Thermostat. I don't need a display on a Thermostat. My Home Automation system can tell me the displayed data faster, assuming I have any need for it. I'm happy with a "puck on the wall" that is no bigger than a half dollar where the height is dictated by the screws to attach the wires and the wall mount.

Nothing like that exists... but I'm ready for it

My viewpoint on Home Automation is skewed towards the full automation, hands off side of the arc. Looking (again, for the 77th time) for a Thermostat that I could enjoy, I ran across this Ecobee picture that captures the essence of what I never want to have:

Screenshot 2025-01-26 at 5.26.29 PM

Standing in front of a smart thermostat, with a mobile in her hand, running an app to change the thermostat. Change the device from thermostat to a Dimmer and the resulting irony is palpable... to me. I understand there's the other end of the arc from where I sit. I love that my home has remote control so I can show it off when guests come over. It just never gets used between guest visits.

Well, the maintenance happened and things are still working with (5) as my cookie check. I looked at the recent poll and change requests and there are 2 seconds from begin to success.

Thanks again @csteele for the help and integration!

It is because of community developers like you that my home works as well as it does and my WAF stays where it is because I don't have to install an "ugly" thermostat.

Same good results here (cookie still at 5)

Same kudos with much thanks and appreciation to @csteele as well

i really dont understand why i can control my tcc therms in the std newer residio app but the api link to residio does support these therms..

So I'm missing heating set points. Day 2 of it missing the 4PM change on 1 or other of my t-stats. Here is the log from today's miss.

You’re showing five cookies in the logs. If you scroll up a couple of messages you’ll see where I’ve advised others to make a change to reduce that count to five. Give it a try, see if it works for you also

Are you referring to the mincookiecount=5? I did that change before Honeywell did the system upgrade on 1/27ish.

The Honeywell site is telling us you are Unauthorized (code 401) The reason is that one of the cookies is invalid/incomplete. your 5th cookie is "TrueHomeCheckCookie="

My normal set of cookies is a LOT larger than 5 and I never get that particular cookie.

There's a cookie or two we have in common but fewer than I'd expect. As mentioned before, these drivers don't care about the cookies, it just saves them up to spit back out. Spitting them back out yields code 401, unauthorized.

Analyzing your logs and 'translating them" into plainer english is about all I can do, since I don't know how Honeywell is getting us here.

:+1:t2: You're doing better than me translating. I wish I understood more but is what it is. They are getting most of the scheduled changes, thought maybe it was something that had changed and I didn't keep up with the times Thanks for all you do!

I've got three Mitsubishi MRCH1's (rebranded Honeywell t-stats) connected to TCC through a Honeywell Redlink gateway, and Hubitat connected to TCC.
The t-stats are set up update to HE every 15 minutes. HE is just a view portal; the control of the t-stats (temp up /down, etc) is done through programming on the t-stats, because I have not gotten around to moving it to HE.

Lately, about 50% of the time, when HE tries to reach out to TCC to get an update on any of the t-stats, I get this in my logs:

Something went wrong during login: org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException: Connect to mytotalconnectcomfort.com:443 [mytotalconnectcomfort.com/[an IPD address] failed: connect timed out
and then
HE T-stat Name TCC transaction: failed

I get that it is failing to connect, but any way to figure out why?

OK, how would one go about doing this? Or do you mean someone has to rewrite the HE/TCC integration to achieve this?

this morn was particularly bad.. failure after failure.. this afternoon working better again!

Like @calinatl, I've been having a lot of connection timeouts as well, resulting in failure of most of my changes pushed. I would estimate it started about a couple weeks ago now, based on when I noticed temp changes not having an effect. With an error like this it could be that the TCC service is having problems so I didn't troubleshoot much yet (hoped it would just start working again).

no errors at all today..

I just looked in the logs and the last time I had a log-in error was on March 13th. Things seemed to have stabilized (knock on wood).

For clarity, I am polling every 60 minutes and will update set points and holds as needed. I also modified the driver to accept 5 cookies.

same just one timeout on both therms in last day.. wow maybe they finally fixed their damn servers.
