[Release] Heatmiser Neostat / Neoplug Integration

Happy to assist if you need some testing done as I'm still struggling with the error a few posts above where supportedThermostatFanModes and supportedThermostatModes attributes need to be added in the new JSON format.

Hi @cjcharles I do hope you can help.

Your integration has been working seamlessly for me until 2 days ago. I'm not a techy so please bare with me.

Basically our ISP did some work on my router and all of the IP addresses in my house changed. I've managed to get Hubitat working again but the Heatmiser integration has stopped working.

In the parent app I've add the neohubs new IP address but to no avail. I've also added the Mac address to device network ID field but still no joy.

These are the logs if it helps. Please please guide me through this

Probably need to enable legacy API as with the person a few posts above.

Aware I still need to fix some of the rule machine functions

That's worked brilliantly. Thankyou so much for your help. Amazing support!

Hi,
digging this up! I hope it's still of enough interest

I'm (once again) turning my attention to a difficult project. One step is controlling a bunch of Neostats with Hubitat. I'm not having much luck, still.

In the interim, some work has occurred on the Heatmiser side, and there is new broadband/networking.

I have uninstalled the integration, and reinstalled it, and "successfully" added all the Neostats again. I can see them all, and sort of control some of them.

Three of the Neostats have been changed from thermostat mode to Mode 2, "Time Clock". so basically programmer mode, no temperature control, just on/off with programmes.

The main thing I need to be able to do is to turn one of these programmers ON or OFF. This I am failing at. I seem to be able to boost one hour, but that's it! All the other controls don't work.

Further, I cannot make any of the thermostats work in a rule. When I get to the Do This, Control Thermostats, I choose a Neostat device (thermostat or programmer), and as soon as I click Update... I get Unexpected Error. An unexpected error has occurred trying to load the app. Error: The JSON input text should neither be null nor empty.

Any advice? Are there any alternative options available to me?

Many thanks!

There have been quite a few changes to Heatmiser and Hubitat in the time since I wrote this integration so it definitely needs another review/polish. This is a good one for me to do on holiday as I dont need to be on site to debug, so hopefully should be some improvements in the next few weeks - especially now its winter and I will need it too!!

Well that would be amazing! So long as it's interesting enough to be a positive activity on holiday!

It would be very helpful indeed, please. I am trying to piece together a puzzle. The most basic and critical workflow is a handful of radiators with smart TRVs being able to reach a low/frost setting and turn the boiler on, to protect the building. Obviously one doesn't want to run the boiler the whole time. And if they simply open themselves up, but no hot water flows, it's useless.

I now have TP Link Kasa TRVs on the radiators. These have been good so far, on their standalone platform. It just works. And punters can work it too - not only the app, but the TRVs themselves, which simply turn like an old fashioned TRV and have a clear readout of the temperature. Simple. One doesn't really need to train people, there's no fiddly button pressing. They (or someone) just makes sure that the boiler is on also.

But these TRVs don't talk to the Heatmiser controlled boiler. Hence Hubitat in the middle. So a crucial step is "can Hubitat control the boiler in a basic manner? At least on/off."

The boiler has a Neostat operating in Timer Mode (as opposed to Thermostat mode), so whilst different to Thermostat, it is more basic. How then does your integration/Hubitat see it? I guess not as a thermostat, but as something else?

Let me know if I can assist and I'll try my best!

Hi,
Just circling back on this. Have I missed any updates, or is there anything I can do to assist?

I would approve if holiday involved holiday only, of course!

Hi @cjcharles ,
just wondering if there is likely to be an update to this one day, or whether I should look at some other solution? Not sure I will have any luck, to be honest, so would love to be able to turn the neostat timer (not thermostat) on or off!
