I hope that I am asking this in the correct place.
I am trying to switch between dashboards in HD+ (or make a new dashboard)
What I see happening is every time I select a dashboard it loads everything available from Maker API.
What I am after is a dashboard that just includes weather graphs that I already have setup in addition to the one that has everything.
Create the new dashboard (create a pointer icon to it) Delete anything you don't want that may have pre populated and add what you need in there. (be sure to add a link back to the main dshboard for smoothness)
What you're seeing is correct and is how HD+ works. Everything that you've authorised in Maker API will be shown. There are various ways to set it up to your requirements.
Firstly, if you're using Maker API for anything else but want a different set of your devices visible for HD+ just create a separate instance of Maker API and name it accordingly 'Maker API - HD+' then only authorise devices that you want to be available using the checkboxes. Alternatively, you can 'Hide' the devices that you don't want to see or simply create a folder called 'Unused' and drop them all in there.
In your case you could just create a folder called 'Weather', then drop the weather graphs in there. You would then add a 'back' button in that 'Weather' folder.
The way I've done mine:
Create a seperate instance of maker api with only what I want for any dashboard that I have, initially everything is on one page
Create folders - 'Lights', 'Sockets', 'Curtains' etc. I've done them by device type but these could be by room or whatever you want. These become separate dashboards/pages
Organise - In edit mode, drag and drop each item into it's respective folder
Open the folder - put it in edit mode and add a 'Back' button so you can return to your main dashboard
Duplicate - My dashboards are primarily the same on each tablet in different rooms of the house. But what I've done is to go into the respective folders and copy specific tiles, then put them back on the main page. For instance in my Lounge, there is a line of icons for items that are specifically in that room - Lamp, Lights, Thermostat, Curtain etc. That line of icons differs to match the room it's in.
I've a different colour for the bottom row of folder icons. Also in that row are shortcuts to launch apps - Sonos, Hik-Connect and resources - Web browser, BBC weather for my location etc
I'm so sorry for not understanding your detailed instruction.
I'm lost on the folders and drag and drop that you mention. Where and how is this done? What am I dragging and dropping?
Well.. it's obviously something I was doing incorrectly. I now have it working as expected.
I just redid all the steps I had dome previously. In any event, now I can make some screens!
If you're setting your dashboards up from scratch, it's handy to do some backups as you go, then if you mess something up (as I did multiple times while doing mine) you can restore it. I tend to back mine up to the hub and the tablet incrementally while making changes. When I'm happy that I have it how I want I delete all but the most recent backup (long press on restore to select backup to delete). I make a new backup after making any changes and delete the previous if all is good.
add Tasker tile to select and run tasks in Tasker app
I had never used Tasker before so this is probably a pretty simple implementation. You can add a Tasker tile -> select the task you want to run and then when you click on the tile it'll run that task.
One thing to note is - you have to grant permission in Tasker to allow other apps to launch tasks. This required a few steps including accepting a new permission in HD+; Anyway, let me know if any issues or additional feature ideas..
Glad you got this figured out! When I first saw this question yesterday I was thinking you were asking how to only show some of the devices visible in MakerAPI.
That reminded me of a feature that used to be there but not anymore -- the ability to hide multiple tiles.
Right now you can 'hide' any device that's returned from MakerAPI but it's on a per-device basis.. which would be tedious to do for many devices. I'll look at adding back a way to select multiple devices to hide at once.
I'm absolutely loving my dashboard right now! Tweaking and playing and my hearts content.
The new icons are awesome!
I've a need - asking the group - I have this dropbox outside my office with a contact sensor. Right now I'm just using the door icon - does anyone have any 2d generic open closed icons for a device like this?
@jpage4500 Just thinking outloud - I can manage tile names beautifully. I'm wondering - would it be a good feature to have 'variables' as an option to build tile names?
For example - the room being '%room%' and name being %dname% and label being %dlabel%?
Result of string - Device Name = %room + %dname = 'Porch - Dropbox'.
Might be a great feature with benefits down the road!
Thanks for this amazing tool. can't live without it.
I cannot for the life of me get remote/cloud functions to work. I have cloud option checked, reset the app and it says it set the cloud token and I can verify that. But when I disconnect from wifi, it cannot connect to my hub.
"NOTE: You can switch between 2 Hub's in different locations as well.. just make sure you have the cloud token set on both of them"
Can someone explain this in a little more detail? I want to move a current set of dashboards from my main hub to a second C7 hub dedicated to only those dashboards.
Edit: I just noticed that the audio works properly when I full-screen the tile, so I am getting connected to the camera. Unfortunately, the video is blank.
Original post:
HD+ is a fantastic app -- I'm using it on my phone and on a tablet mounted on a FR wall.
I am having problems getting my Amcrest cams to work. I've read the various posts on this thread. I configured the video tile to use the RTSP (custom) driver and used the following URL: rtsp://user:password@IP-address:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1
Unfortunately, it only results in a blank tile. I am running on a Samsung Galaxy S23+.
That same RTSP string works with the VLC media player running on a Windows 11 PC, so the camera and the RTSP string are correct.
It's put a way right now but I'll get it out and test it again to make sure nothing broke. In the meantime, if you want I compiled and uploaded the test app from the open source library I'm using for RTSP here. It's a good way to verify the library is working and the issue isn't with HD+ implementing it.
There's 2 other video drivers but for RTSP this one should be the best/fastest
FWIW - finding good icons is hard! There's a million out there but if you want to find both 'open' and 'closed' states which look basically the same it's hard. Then, if you want to match the overall look and feel of the rest of the app icons it's even harder. This is the reason I don't have different icon 'sets' in the various HD+ themes.. there's just too many icons to try and come up with a consistent looking theme.
I picked white icons to keep things clean/simple but also because I can programmatically change the color of them in the app.. not sure how many people use that feature though.
Anyway, 90% of the icons I use came from here; I modified a few of them like lights and switches. The search feature is terrible though so you really have get creative when searching to find what you want.
If that fails, I use google images.. just make sure you select icon and transparent or black/white and you'll get a ton of results. You really want to find a .png since it has transparent background.
In your case, "dropbox" search term isn't going to help.. not sure some alternate names but maybe "postbox" or "secure box"?
