BITUO TECHNIK SPM02 3-Phase Zigbee Energy Meter Driver for Hubitat

Description

This is a custom driver for the BITUO TECHNIK SPM02X001 smart energy monitor for 3P+N systems, a Zigbee 3.0 clamp (CT) meter also sold as SPM02X and as the Zemismart SPM02-3Z3. The device implements the standard Metering and Electrical Measurement clusters (no Tuya data points), but Hubitat has no in-built driver for it, so out of the box it pairs as a generic "Device" and shows nothing.

This custom driver exposes:

  • standard attributes for the whole installation: power (total active power), energy (total imported energy), voltage (average of the three phases), amperage (sum of the three phases) and frequency,
  • per-phase attributes: powerL1..L3, voltageL1..L3 and amperageL1..L3,
  • optionally per-phase power factor, total reactive and apparent power, and total exported energy.

Additionally:

  • the driver binds both clusters to the hub and configures attribute reporting on the device, so the hub is not polling - the device reports on its own whenever a value moves by more than a threshold and at least once per maximum interval; intervals and thresholds are configurable in the preferences,
  • multipliers and divisors are read from the device instead of being assumed; the one known firmware quirk (power divisor advertised as 1000 while the power attributes are already in watts) is handled by an auto-detecting "Power scaling" preference that can also be forced either way,
  • every Configure Reporting response is checked and rejected attributes are logged as warnings,
  • an "interview" command discovers the attributes and commands the device actually supports on every cluster, reads the Basic cluster and reads back the reporting configuration - results go to the log at info level.

Notes

  • The driver has been tested on SPM02X001 with firmware version 003.00.04 (application 0x0B) paired directly with a Hubitat C-8 Pro. The SPM02X and SPM02-3Z3 fingerprints share the firmware according to zigbee2mqtt but have not been tested.
  • Phases are named L1, L2, L3 and map to Zigbee phases A, B, C.
  • Firmware 003.00.04 has no per-phase energy (the tier summation attributes zigbee2mqtt maps to phases are not implemented) and the energy counter cannot be reset from the driver, as the Metering and Electrical Measurement clusters accept no commands on this device.
  • This is not the Tuya "SPM02" (TS0601 / TZE200*) discussed in the Tuya Zigbee Metering Plug thread - that one uses Tuya data points and needs a different driver.

Installation
It is recommended to install through Hubitat Package Manager by searching for BITUO TECHNIK SPM02. Alternatively, you can download the code and install it manually. After assigning the driver, hit Configure once so the device gets bound and reporting is set up.
